Reports to: Managing Director

Job Summary: The Communication Director will be responsible for promoting the Foundation and the businessworthy concept globally and the planning and execution of all communication activities related to the Business for Peace Summit and other events.

 
Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement a communication strategy to globally broaden the awareness and support of the Foundation’s vision and objectives
  • Develop and manage the Foundation’s media relations internationally, and collaborate with PR agencies, media partners and others on extending the global reach
  • Represent and be a spokesperson for the Foundation in public appearances, and develop relationships with key stakeholders internationally
  • Develop and manage the Social Media channels and web sites of the Foundation, and produce own content for these channels
  • Manage style and visual guides and templates for all communication, and the production of all printed material, including presentations, newsletters and reports
  • Take part in other areas of the Foundation’s work as relevant and required, and work with colleagues on communication with Partners, Honourees and other parts of our network
  • Ensure sufficient capacity for the communication activities through engagements of volunteers, interns and additional staff
  • Raise communication skills and awareness in the organisation through internal sharing

Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Higher education, international experience an advantage
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience from relevant international media or communication work
  • Excellent English skills, oral and written. Good understanding of Norwegian preferable
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to develop and present strong narratives
  • Understanding of digital platforms and professional experience with Social Media channels
  • Good collaboration skills, ability to think strategically and innovatively
  • Understanding of international business and the sustainability landscape an advantage
  • Knowledge of web based editing systems like WordPress preferable
  • Willingness to execute day-to-day tasks, work independently and get the job done
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work under pressure, good prioritisation skills
  • Leadership capabilities for managing a team of communication interns and volunteers
  • Good project management and problem solving skills
